Early Years Portraits, established 1998

Why Families Choose Us

In most cases the service makes the arrangement. What follows is what that decision means for a family.

The portrait will match the last one

Because the lighting arrangement and seating are specified rather than left to the photographer's preference, a portrait taken this year will sit alongside one taken four years ago without appearing to belong to a different decade.

The negative is never destroyed

Every original this studio has produced since 1998 is retained. Families regularly return to us for a reprint of a portrait taken fifteen or twenty years earlier, and we are always able to supply it.

Siblings are photographed together properly

Where siblings are enrolled at the same service they are photographed together in a separate formal frame, arranged and lit to the same standard as the individual portraits, and included without additional charge.

An absent child is photographed

The studio returns to every service at which children were absent. This is provided for in our terms and is not subject to a minimum number. No family is charged for a portrait that was not taken.

The ordering period is generous

Galleries remain available for eighteen months. The studio does not issue expiry warnings, countdown notices or reminder correspondence of any kind.

Correspondence is answered by the studio

Enquiries are answered from the Crown Street premises by a member of studio staff, normally within one business day. The studio does not operate an automated enquiry system.

“My mother had me photographed by this studio in 2001. Last year I ordered a reprint of that portrait to hang beside the one they took of my daughter. They found it in the archive in under an hour.”
