Privacy Policy

The Studio

Early Years Portraits, Crown Street, Wollongong, New South Wales. The studio is bound by the Australian Privacy Principles contained in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

Information Collected

From services and schools: the names and room or class allocation of enrolled children, and the photography consent recorded in respect of each. From families: name, electronic mail address, postal address where a printed portrait is ordered, and a record of orders placed. Payment card particulars are processed by our payment provider and are not held by the studio at any time.

Photographs of Children

A photograph of a child constitutes personal information and is treated as such. The studio photographs a child only where consent has been recorded by the service and confirmed by the studio, in the presence of the nominated supervisor, on the morning of attendance.

Photographs are used to fulfil the family's order and to supply the service with its room groups, composites, educator portraits and premises photography. No photograph of a child is published on this website, in advertising, or in any public material without a separate written authority given by that family for that specific purpose. Such authority may be withdrawn at any time and is actioned within one business day.

Retention and Storage

Original photographs are retained indefinitely in the studio archive, in order that reprints may be supplied to families in later years. This retention is a deliberate policy of the studio and is disclosed to every service. A parent or guardian may at any time require the deletion of their child's photographs, and such a requirement is actioned within one business day and confirmed in writing.

Photographs and records are held on Australian-hosted infrastructure, encrypted, with an offline duplicate maintained at the Crown Street premises. Access is restricted to studio staff.

Disclosure

Personal information is disclosed to our printing laboratory and our payment provider only to the extent necessary to fulfil an order. The studio does not sell, rent, license or exchange personal information, and does not maintain a marketing list.

Access, Correction and Complaint

A person may request access to the personal information the studio holds concerning them, request its correction, or require the deletion of photographs of their child, by writing to admin@earlyyearsportraits.com.au. The studio responds within thirty days. A person dissatisfied with the studio's response may refer the matter to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

This website sets no cookies, employs no analytics, and contains no third-party tracking of any description. Typefaces are the only resource requested from an external source.
