Privacy policy
What we collect, why, where it lives and how to get rid of it.
Who we are
Redgum Portraits, Bendigo, Victoria. We handle personal information under the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
What we collect
From centres and schools: children's names, room or class, and the photography consent recorded against each. From families: your name, email, a postal address only if you order something printed, and what you ordered. Card details go straight to our payment provider and never touch our systems.
Photographs of children
A photo of a child is personal information and we treat it that way. We photograph a child only where your centre has recorded consent and we've confirmed it face to face on the morning. Anyone we can't confirm doesn't get photographed.
We use the photos to fill your order and to give your centre its own room groups, educator portraits and yard photography. We never put a child's photo on this website, on social media, or in anything public unless that family has separately said yes to that specific use. You can withdraw that at any time by emailing us and we'll act on it the same day.
Where it's kept
On Australian servers, with an encrypted backup held offline in Bendigo. Only the four photographers have access. We keep original files for five years so families can reorder, then delete them.
Who else sees it
Our print lab and our payment provider, only as much as they need to fulfil an order. Nobody else. We don't sell or swap personal information and we don't send marketing emails to families.
Getting a copy, fixing it, or deleting it
Email admin@redgumportraits.com.au and ask. We'll reply within thirty days. If we've handled it badly you can take it to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
