Why families choose us

The reasons
are unglamorous.

Families rarely choose a childcare photographer at all — the service does. So the honest version of this page is about what changes for a family once the decision has been made.

Your child is not photographed in a queue

Children are brought to us in twos and threes across a whole morning rather than processed in a line. The practical result is that a child who is having a difficult day is not captured looking as though they were having a difficult day.

You are not sold the same photograph twice

Full-resolution digital files are included. There is no separate digital package, no licence fee, and no watermark to pay to remove. Print if you like, or don't.

There is no ordering deadline designed to panic you

Galleries stay open for twelve months. We have never understood the practice of giving families seventy-two hours to decide.

The person who photographed your child is the person who edits the file

There is no editing house. If a frame is warm, the person who saw the room that morning is the one correcting it.

The same photographers return each year

Because we are two people rather than a roster, siblings photographed four years apart are photographed by the same hands, in a comparable style, and the images sit together on a wall without looking like they came from different decades.

You can reach an actual person

Enquiries are answered by one of the two photographers, usually the same day. We do not operate a ticketing system.

A parent holding a printed portrait at a kitchen bench

“Our eldest was photographed by them in 2013 and our youngest last spring. The two frames hang next to each other and they look like they belong together. That is the whole thing, really.”
