Privacy

Privacy policy.

How Marlow & Bell Portraiture collects, holds and uses personal information, including photographs of children.

Who we are

Marlow & Bell Portraiture, Mosman, New South Wales. We are bound by the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

What we collect

From services: the names and room allocations of enrolled children, and the consent status recorded for each. From families: name, email address, delivery address where a printed product is ordered, and order history. We do not collect payment card details — these are handled by our payment provider and never reach us.

Photographs of children

Photographs are personal information. We photograph a child only where consent has been recorded by the service and confirmed by us on the morning of the session. A child whose consent status cannot be confirmed on the day is not photographed.

Images are used to fulfil the family's order and, with the service's agreement, to supply that service with its own room groups and environment frames. We do not use a child's image in advertising, on this website, or anywhere public without a separate written permission obtained from that family for that specific purpose. Permission may be withdrawn at any time and we act on it the same day.

Where information is held

On Australian-hosted infrastructure, with a second encrypted copy held offline in our Mosman premises. Access is limited to the two photographers. Original files are retained for seven years so that families can reorder, and are then destroyed unless the family has asked us to keep them.

Disclosure

We disclose personal information to our print laboratory and our payment provider only to the extent required to fulfil an order. We do not sell, rent, license or trade personal information, and we do not send marketing to families.

Access, correction and complaints

You may ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete images of your child. Write to admin@marlowandbell.com.au. We respond within thirty days. If you are not satisfied with our response you may refer the matter to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
